Job Title: Solution Architect: Asset/Portfolio Management

Emphasys Software has an R&D position available in its effort to apply rapid development techniques to the subsidized housing and real estate industries. This position reports to the VP of Software Engineering. Responsibilities The candidate in this position will design, develop, tune, and test a complex C# .NET server application that will execute a high-performance, patent-pending algorithm for asset management strategy (and property valuations) using multiple what-if and Monte Carlo simulations. I/O performance is important, so experience with database design and tuning (both on the server and on the client) is required. Responsibilities also include configuring and testing database replication to the client that utilizes the server application; utilizing multi-threading to maximize throughput; using web services to structure the application; recommending and implementing scalability features to maximize throughput. This individual will work with a very small, but high-performance team on this application. Requirements Successful candidates will have notable and relevant programming experience in .NET, be detail-oriented, up-to-date in their knowledge, and have strong academic preparation and/or a strong track record of programming in either a research and development or product development environment. We are looking for: 5+ years of experience in software design and development. 3+ years experience in: server application programming, writing multi-thread, multi-processor, and multi-server applications, SQL Server and/or Oracle DB programming, administration, and tuning. Significant experience in 3rd-party software integration. 2+ years in a ASP.NET environment using C#. IIS experience required. Windows Workflow Foundation experience is a big plus. The candidate must enjoy independent investigation and troubleshooting with minimal support.
